Minutes of a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, on September 6th, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.

There were present:

Township of Coleman Mayor: C. Belanger

Councillor: M. Allaire

R. Beeson

K. Leopold L. Perry

Clerk-Treasurer: C. Bigelow

Economic Development Officer: D. Cleroux

Deputations: Jason Leis

Russ Johnston

Mr. Leis was in attendance to request more information regarding his parcel on Dump Road.

Mr. Johnston was in attendance to request approval to use a road constructed during the logging operation. Council agreed to consider his request.

A discussion was held regarding By-Law No 06-23. Council will meet with Fire Chief Breault and Mr. Johnston to come to some agreement regarding campfires.

The Clerk-Treasurer presented a final report for Coleman Water Users. The Clerk-Treasurer to arrange a meeting for September 20th with Coleman Water Users.

The District of Timiskaming Social Services Administration Board advised the Township of Coleman will receive computer equipment which will be used for the Chief Building Official.

Mayor Belanger read correspondence received from Ontario Power Generation regarding the redevelopment of Hound Chute Generating Station.

The Clerk-Treasurer to circulate copies of the Township of Hilliard’s correspondence which will be considered at the next meeting.

Mayor Belanger read Minister John Gerretsen’s letter regarding the Town of Cobalt’s proposed annexation. The Clerk-Treasurer to forward a copy of this letter to the City of Temiskaming Shores.

Motion 06-09-01 MOVED BY Marcel Allaire and SECONDED BY Lois Perry:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 06-25 being a by-law to appoint a by-law enforcement officer for the Township of Coleman be read a first and second time. Carried.

Motion 06-09-02 MOVED BY Kurt Leopold and SECONDED BY Marcel Allaire:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 06-25 be read a third and final time and be passed and enacted. Carried.

Motion 06-09-03 MOVED BY Lois Perry and SECONDED BY Kurt Leopold:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Clerk-Treasurer be authorized to donate $165.00 to Community Living Temiskaming South – .30 per capita. Carried.

The Township of Coleman’s Open House will be rescheduled to October 14th, 2006 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Clerk-Treasurer and Brian Bigelow will attend the CEMC training session in Englehart.

Council approved the OMERS policy.

The Clerk-Treasurer will attend the Zone 8 meeting in Kapuspkasing September 20th and 21st, 2006.
