Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Township of Coleman held at the Council Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, Ontario on Monday, November 17th, 2014 at 6:00 P.M.

STAFF REPORTS
Fire Department
– Chief Don Laitinen advised the Fire Alarm Campaign was conducted in October.
– The Open House was not well attended this year. He plans to make changes for this event in 2015.
– A discussion was held regarding the burning of old buildings as it poses a liability for the Municipality. Anyone who wishes to burn these old buildings will be charged the MTO rates should the Coleman Fire Department be requested to supervise the fire.

– The Christmas Decorations contest will be held again this year.
– The Clerk-Treasurer to order Christmas Turkeys for the municipality.
– Council did not approve the Cash Management – Cheque Deposit offer from CIBC
– The 2015 OMPF Funding notice was distributed to Council.
– The OPP Semi-Annual Policing Costs report was distributed to Council.
– Council did not approve the digitized mapping for the Township of Coleman at this time.
– The 2013 and 2014 ATV Financial Reports were distributed to Council.
– The Private Plowing Call out report was distributed to Council.

1. Power Dams – Conference Call report
Mayor Cleroux reported on a conference with the Ministry of Finance regarding Power Dams. Nothing will change for 2015 and a working committee will be set up to review this matter.

Council reviewed correspondence received from the Township of McKellar and The Township of Carling regarding OPP billing.
3. Tri Town Ski & Snowboard Village 2014 –

4. Mr. Jay Labonte – request to extend Home construction deadline
Council approved Mr. Labonte’s request to defer his construction to the spring/summer of 2016
5. Fire Department Communications Systems Agreement

6. FedNor – Cobalt Coleman Latchford Application
The Cobalt Coleman Latchford Regional Economic Initiative will proceed to phase 2 for the hiring of a regional Economic Development Officer for project implementation.
7. Snowmobile Trail – Old Ferguson Highway reroute
Council reviewed correspondence received from Mr. Bill Ramsay.

8. Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club –
The Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club’s request for donation will be deferred to the 2015 budget.
Council reviewed correspondence regarding the Township of Coleman’s support for a Land Use Permit from the Ministry of Natural in order to minimize Damage to the TNSC Trails. The Clerk-Treasurer to invite Mr. Story to make a presentation to Council regarding this matter in the new year.
9. 2015 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts.
– Correspondence reviewed by Council.
