Minutes of a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, 10 Prospect Avenue, Cobalt, on Tuesday, May 9th, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.
There were present:

The purpose of the meeting was to review and discuss the Town of Cobalt’s proposed annexation
of a portion of the City of Temiskaming Shores and the Township of Coleman.
Correspondence received from Temiskaming shores Manufacturing Inc. was reviewed. Mayor Belanger will contact Mr. Prestage to get more information.
Mayor Belanger contacted Mr. James Lathem to discuss the access required for Crown Aggregate Pit adjacent to Coleman’s proposed Crown Land purchase. Mr. Al Jenkins will attend a Council meeting to discuss this matter.
Correspondence received from MacLeod Farley & Associates regarding an opportunity for Historic Cobalt to obtain funding from NOHFC for a strategy to encourage production companies to consider Northern Ontario as a potential location for their film and television projects was reviewed.
The Tri-Town & District Chamber of Commerce annual dinner will be held June 13, 2006.
Council reviewed The City of Temiskaming Shores’s application for consent. Council had no objection to this consent.
Council reviewed the Township of Coleman’s municipal status report provided by MPAC.
St. Cyr & Associates will hold their 8th Annual Golf tournament on July 20th, 2006 – Councillor Beeson will attend.

WHEREAS a meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered is :
litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board;
a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the part of the meeting dealing with these matters will be closed to the public. Carried.
The proposed annexation package was reviewed and discussed. The Clerk-Treasurer reported on conversation with Mr. Steve Watt, Solicitor.
