Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Township of Coleman held at the Council Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, Ontario on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 at 6:00 P.M.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the following Council Meetings be adopted as distributed: Regular Meeting – February 24, 2010

Special Meeting – March 3, 2010 Carried.

Motion 10-03-08 MOVED BY Lois Perry and SECONDED BY Pat Tresidder:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the General Accounts in the amount of $38,296.25 and Payroll in the amount of $22,483.94 be passed and paid. Carried.

Motion 10-03-09 MOVED BY A. Chitaroni and SECONDED BY Lois Perry:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 10-05 being a by-law to confirm certain proceedings of Council be read a first and second time. Carried.

Motion 10-03-10 MOVED BY Lois Perry and SECONDED BY Pat Tresidder:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 10-05 be read a third and final time and be passed and enacted. Carried.

Councillor Lois Perry declared a Conflict of Interest with matters dealing with the Speaker

Councillor Albert Chitaroni declared a Conflict of Interest with matters dealing with the Coleman Water Distribution System and Bass Lake Park.

Fire Department

– The office radio antenna has been installed and radios reprogrammed.

– Door-to-Door Smoke Alarm Campaign will be held Thursday, April 3rd

– Food Drive will be held March 27th – Fire Fighters will be present at the Fire Hall to accept donations.

Works Department

Mr. Dufresne will ask Phippen Waste Management to take over pumping Septic Tanks for the municipality.

– Mr. Dufresne will attend the Pavement Maintenance Seminar in North Bay

– Mr. Dufresne will request a quote for the second application on roads which received service treatment in 2009

– Mileage 104 residents are complaining about garbage in and around residences. Mr. Jones will look into the matter.

Coleman Water Distribution System

– Mr. Rod MacGibbon advised he has forwarded the Operational Plan and application documents for approval and signatures by Mayor Belanger and the Town of Cobalt staff.

Bass Lake Park

– Letters are being sent to the Hon. Anthona Rota, MP and Hon David Ramsay, MPP for support.

Planning Group

– Mr. Cleroux advised he has been accumulating more information regarding the road allowance South of the Montreal River.

– A meeting of Planning Group will be scheduled next week.

Mrs. Logan Belanger will attend the Canada’s Rural Partnership meeting to be held March 11th. She will bring Council’s concerns to the table for discussion.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Clerk-Treasurer be authorized to donate $250.00 to the Lake Temiskaming Loop Tour Project providing the Township of Coleman’s name is attached to the Project. Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Clerk-Treasurer be authorized to purchase an ad in the Speaker Spring Fever in the amount of $98.00. Carried.
