Minutes of a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, 10 Prospect Avenue, Cobalt, on Wednesday, July 5th, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.
There were present:

The meeting was held in order to interview two applicants for the position of By-Law Officer. Both candidates will review various by-laws and advise Council if they are still interested in the position.
The Clerk-Treasurer to advertise for tenders for the cleaning of the new municipal office.
Council reviewed various changes to the proposed budget. The 2006 budget will be adopted July 12th, 2006.
The Clerk-Treasurer distributed information regarding the Cobalt Water Supply Act for Council’s review. Council reviewed correspondence received from the City of Temiskaming shores regarding the establishment of a conservation easement on lands situated within the City of Temiskaming Shores.
Council reviewed the Mediator’s Report provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources. The Ministry of the Environment was informed of the tailings pond at a regular meeting of council held January 25th, 2006
Mayor Belanger read a letter received from Mr. Gerry Boucher. A meeting will be arranged with Mr. Boucher later in the summer to discuss his project.
Building and Land Use Permits were received from the Ministry of Transportation for the relocation of the University Headframe.
Correspondence received from the Ministry of Transportation addressed to Mr. Del Cole regarding relocating Mud Lake Road was reviewed.
An information package was received from the Ministry of community Safety and Correctional Services regarding The Joint Emergency Preparedness Program.
