Minutes of a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Motion 10-07-14 MOVED BY Pat Tresidder and SECONDED BY Lois Perry: WHEREAS Section 239 (2) states that a meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered is:

(a) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees;

(b) a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board;

(c) labour relations or employee negotiations

(d) litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board;

(e) advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose;

BE IT RESOLVED THAT this part of the meeting be closed to the public. Carried.

Mayor Belanger opened the meeting

Unfinished Business:

– The Clerk-Treasurer to re-schedule a meeting with Councillors of the Town of Cobalt as the first part of the meeting extended into the time allocated for their part of the meeting.

– Cobalt Refinery Site – Mayor Belanger read correspondence submitted by Mr. Larry McCormak, Ministry of the Environment addressing Council’s concerns regarding the clean up of the site.

– Provincial Offences Act Advisory Committee – Councillor Lois Perry has volunteered to represent the municipalities on this committee. The Clerk-Treasurer to request the approval of the Townships of Harris, Kerns and Hudson of this appointment.

– A discussion was held regarding the naming of the road leading to the Municipal Waste Site.

– Mayor Belanger reviewed correspondence received from the Ministry of Transportation regarding Highway 11 access to the Perry property.

– Council reviewed the Work Permit provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources for the Bass Lake Beach Clean up. Mayor Belanger will purchase 1 large picnic table and six smaller picnic tables for Bass Lake Park.

– The Clerk-Treasurer reported on a conversation the Municipal Planner, Mr. Butch Windsor, regarding the proposed plan for the Commercial/Industrial site. Mr. Windsor will arrange a meeting with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs Planner to discuss this proposal.

– Councillor Chitaroni voiced his opposition to assigning timber rights from Grant Forest Products to Georgia Pacific.

Motion 10-16-16 MOVED BY Lois Perry and SECONDED BY Pat Tresidder:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Township of Coleman approves naming of the road from Highway 11, leading to the Municipal Waste Site, Ferguson Road with the notation “Coleman Waste Site’ in smaller letters below the road name. Carried.

Motion 10-07-17 MOVED BY Pat Tresidder and SECONDED BY Lois Perry:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Bass Lake Attendant’s wage be in creased to $1,200.00 monthly for July, August and until September 12th, 2010. Carried.

Motion 10-07-18 MOVED BY A. Chitaroni and SECONDED BY Ron Beeson:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT this meeting do now adjourn. Carried.
