Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Township of Coleman held at the Council
Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, Ontario on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 at
6:00 P.M.

STAFF REPORTS
Administration
– Request for the reimbursement of Hockey Summer School – denied
– Ms. Pat Anderson thanked Council for the donation to the Bunker Museum. Two of the three
Summer Students are from Coleman Township.
– Council agreed to reimbursement Swim Instructors for First Aid and Swimming
Recertification fees.
– Ombudsman Ontario “Under the Sunshine Law” tips for closing meetings were distributed to
Council.
– A meeting is scheduled for September 3rd, 2013 to review the Emergency Plan.
– A copy of the water policy was distributed to Council for review.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves the Administration Report submitted by the
Clerk-Treasurer, as presented: Carried.
DEPUTATION
Mr. Ron Ackert submitted a complaint regarding the garbage along Nipissing Road and the
need for brushing at the entrance of the road. The Clerk-Treasurer to advise Mr. Bigelow to
brush this location and at the entrance of West Cobalt Road.
BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
1. ATV Rally
– Mayor Cleroux will be attending the CCLT meeting scheduled for July 3rd, 2013. Mayor
Cleroux will discuss the LIC application for the ATV Rally and the structure of the
Temagami Cobalt Corridor Committee.
2. Cassidy Lane – tenders
– Mayor Cleroux opened the tenders submitted for the upgrade to Cassidy Lane at 7:00 p.m.
3. Temagami-Cobalt Corridor website
– Council will review the Strategic Plan. The Clerk-Treasurer will advise Ms VanWetten
about various events in the Township of Coleman to be posted on the Temagami-Cobalt
Corridor website.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Conferences – Golf Tournament – July 24th
Energy Planning Workshop
2. Motions – Emerald Ash Borer – reviewed by Council
3. NEOnet – update request denied
4. Canagco Mining Corp. – notice of confirmation of staking
– Council reviewed the notice of confirmation of staking.
5. Carolyn Chevrier – complaint regarding Heritage Silver Trail
Mayor will address this complaint with Ms. Chevrier.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Bass Lake
– The next meeting of the Bass Lake Committee is scheduled for July 4, 2013.
– The notice received from Northeastern Ontario Tourism for funding does not meet the
Township of Coleman’s Bass Lake Park needs for this year.
Public & Safety
– Nipissing Road – sidewalk covered with garbage, trailers etc. The Clerk-Treasurer to advise
the landowner to remove the debris from Nipissing Road allowance.
– A stop sign will be erected at Marsh Bay Resort before going onto Marsh Bay Road.
– The Clerk-Treasurer to follow up on the cleaning up of properties

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Swimming Instructors be reimbursed for First Aid Recertification
the amount of $90.00 and Swimming Course in the amount of $225.00. Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Miller Paving Northern be awarded the contract for widening,
clearing and the application of Granular A on Cassidy Lane. Carried.
