Minutes of a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, on Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.

There were present:

Councillor Perry opened the meeting.

Mayor Belanger arrived at 6:05 p.m.

The meeting opened with a presentation by Mr. Mick Hinds, regarding the Township of Coleman investments with C.I.B.C. Council agreed to continue with the present investment portfolio.

Tenders were opened for the construction of a vault and salt shed. The Clerk-Treasurer will investigate the possibility of obtaining grants to assist with the cost of these projects.

Council reviewed the quote provided by Pedersen Construction Inc. for a 2000 gallon septic tank. Councillor Beeson will discuss this matter with Mr. T. J. Adshead.

Councillor Perry advised Council will have to look at a small tax increase for the year 2008.

Council reviewed information provided by Mr. Butch Windsor regarding Proposed Consent for Ontario Power Generation.

Council reviewed correspondence provided by Evans, Bragagnolo & Sullivan regarding the transfer of Part 2 (Clear Lake Road) on Plan 54R-5069 to the Township of Coleman. Council agreed with the transfer.

A meeting will be held on July 30th, 2007 in Latchford regarding the Community Investment Readiness Program. Mayor Belanger and Councillor Perry will attend on behalf of the Township of Coleman.

The Clerk-Treasurer to proceed with the purchases of Crown Land on Highway 11. The Clerk-Treasurer to list the property on Highway 11B (Old Fire Hall) and advise the Realtor about residential and commercial properties coming up on Highway 11.

Correspondence received from the City of Temiskaming Shores regarding the E 9-1-1 and Fire Dispatch Services was reviewed. Councillor Perry informed Council about a meeting she attended with Chief Jeff Breault regarding the Dispatch Services. The Timmins Police would provide Fire Department Dispatch at a cost of $.30 per capita and the Ontario Provincial Police will provide 9-1-1 service at a cost of $.56 per capita. The Township of Coleman will have to obtain alternative services as soon as possible. The Clerk-Treasurer will make inquiries regarding the cost if Timmins Police provided all the services.
