Minutes of a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, 937907 Marsh Bay Road, Coleman Township, on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.

The special meeting was called to discuss certain matters with Council Members from the Town of Cobalt:

1. Sharp Lake Park

Mr. Palmateer advised he has been working with their Municipal Planner to finalize the Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendments required for the project.

The Town of Cobalt are receiving regular reports from Miller Minerals regarding material which is being removed from the site.

The Town of Cobalt will set aside money, at least $300,000.00, for the landscape/rehabilitation of the site once the material has been removed. Mr. Palmateer will prepare an agreement for this specific purpose.

2. Coleman Water Distribution

The Clerk-Treasurer provided the Town of Cobalt with proposed by-laws for the Township of Coleman water project. The Town of Cobalt will pass a by-law for the three connections located within the Town of Cobalt boundaries.

A discussion was held regarding an application to the Special Circumstances Funding for a top up for the hazard found on the road. The Clerk-Treasurer to contact Ms. Dawn Spires to enquire about the meeting held with Agnico-Eagle Mines – get a cost for the repair.

3. LaRose Bridge

Mayor Colleen and Mayor Andre Belanger will meet with the Hon. David Ramsay to discuss the completion of the LaRose Bridge Rehabilitation.

4. Coleman Municipal Waste Site

The Town of Cobalt requested the future use the municipal waste site for their garbage. A committee will be created to explore a cooperative waste management including recycling.

5. CCLT

Councillor Gino Chitaroni would like to make a presentation to the CCLT group to discuss a compilation of mining in the area.

5. Commercial/Industrial Land

Councils should consider setting aside lands for Commercial and Industrial use exclusively.

Mayor Colleen Belanger thanked the Cobalt Council for attending the meeting to discuss these very important issues that concern both municipalities.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law 10-22 being a by-law to authorize the sale of land to Sylviane Labonte and Rejean Cote be read a first and second time. Carried.
