ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves the agenda for the special meeting of April 14th, 2015 with additions – Summer Council Meetings
Use of Hanger Carried.

Councillor Perry with matters dealing with The Voice.
BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Municipal Roads – TransCanada Pipeline meeting
Councillor Marcella reported on a meeting with Mr. Calvin Hagel, TransCanada Pipeline and Mr. Britt Herd, Miller Paving Ltd. Mr. Hagel advised he would bring Council’s request for a review of the pipeline crossings located on Ferguson Road and Portage Bay Road to the Engineering Group. He also advised that several other communities are in the same situation. Township of Madawaska Valley – Hydro Rates
Motion 15-04-18 MOVED BY Lois Perry and SECONDED BY Cathy Marcella:
WHEREAS the cost of hydro has doubled and more than doubled for many in the past five years;
AND WHEREAS businesses are leaving Ontario and families are facing serious hardships;
AND WHEREAS THE Province’S Long Term Energy Plan anticipates that consumers will face hydro rates that will rise by 42% over the next five (5) years;
AND WHEREAS the Province of Ontario should provide provincial relief to Ontario Hydro One Customers and review their energy policies and utilize The Rural and Northern Lens advocated by the
Rural Ontario Municipal Association to evaluate and assess the needs of rural municipalities;

these and any other rate increase from being implemented and to do something to bring the present rates down to a reasonable level as quickly as possible. Carried.

New Liskeard Bikers Reunion

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Clerk-Treasurer be authorized to purchase a 2015 yearly sponsorship for the New Liskeard Bikers Reunion in the amount of $500.00. Carried.
Quote- Miller Paving Northern / Street Lighting

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Coleman approves Miller Paving Northern’s quote in the amount of $1,500.00 + H.S.T. to GPS and provide wattage for Coleman’s Street Lights. Carried.

Summer Meetings
A discussion was held regarding Summer Meeting. Council approved the following meetings during the Summer months:
the last regular bi-weekly meeting will be held May 19th, 2015

Bi-weekly meetings will resume on September 8th, 2015
Use of Hanger The Clerk-Treasurer will investigate liabilities concerns with donating fire alarms to residents, Highway Clean Up and volunteers providing service at community event. A discussion was held regarding the use of the hanger. Council decided that the Works Department and Fire Department will share the hanger to house their equipment.
The Clerk-Treasurer will investigate liabilities concerns with donating fire alarms to residents, Highway Clean Up and volunteers providing service at community event.
2015 Municipal Budget Review/Adoption
Water Meeting and Invoice
Council reviewed the preliminary 2015 budget. The Clerk-Treasurer to make recommended changes and present at the next regular meeting for approval.
Councillor Marcella presented a detailed report regarding the Coleman Water Distribution explaining the audited statement and recommendations presented by the Auditor.
